Podcast prototype!

April 7th, 2009

As you might guess, I am now dabbling in the realm of podcasts. I’m still in the developmental stages, but I think I’m on the right track. I couldn’t secure hosting or learn this RSS stuff fast enough for this episode, so I’m going to label it Episode 0.1, making it a bit of a podcast pilot.

Click after the jump for a table of contents, and for the download link!

What’s on the podcast?

1) An introduction and walkaround my blog.
2) What I hope to do with this podcast
3) Feature: My workflow. Listen to how I handle my photos on Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
4) Conclusion
Total time: 19:51

DOWNLOAD EPISODE 0.1!
(This is hosted on Mediafire for the moment, let me know if you need any help!)

I accidentally said “dash” instead of “hypen” for my URL, but I trust that you know how to type this address. :) I also plan to get some better-than-loops music, too.

So what is in the future for this? You can look forward to shorter lessons (unless longer ones are requested!), more content, possibly interviews, answers to questions and much more! I might do another “pilot” or two, but I hope to be able to jump in entirely in a week or so.

Definitely let me know what you think, and what YOU would like to hear from me in the future. Thanks!

    Ok,
    So I’m at work.
I can’t install any programs so all I have is Winblows media player to play the file.
I don’t think I have the proper Codec to view the video.
    I just get the audio.

I’d really like to see video podcasts hosted on Youtube.
I know the camera on the Macbook is pretty bad in low light.
You might want to make a DIY hotlight with a lamp and an improv softbox for lighting.

You should be able to use iMovie HD for video recording and editing.
as far as Screen capture, I can’t really help you there, I’ll do some research.

    Keep it up!

(side note: I got my Moo Cards!)

Oh yeah, it is an audio-only podcast. It should be an average MP3. I’m going to continue investigating a host, etc. A little unorthodox (possibly) to talk about photography without images, but I can get better quality out of the format at the moment. But I might just cave and do iSight, anyway. And I am still toying with youtube video ideas. Actually, I’m having ideas already …

I’ll check into the iMovie thing, too. Thanks!

(P.S. … My supply is dwindling, I think I have to make a reorder very soon. They definitely have worked well for me!)
