Computer stuff

Anyone want to buy me a Canon 5D Mark II? Ha ha

So, I still have a Photoshop hangup that won’t let me save JPGs. This is irritating, but I’m dealing. The last idea I have to handle things differently is that I just started using Lightroom 2, and maybe that has something to do with it? Anyway, on to important things …

I am cleaning up and backing up files on my computer. I have been a bit too occupied to break out the DVDs and external hard drive, but I think now is a good time to get that done. Whilst digging through my old stuff, I ran across some decent leftover shots of Betsy, who you might have read about in some of my first entries on this blog.

The shot is above, and is shot entirely with natural light. I sure do miss her 5D (and want the newest version of it badly!), but I had a very educational and enjoyable shoot that I hope to follow up one day. The thing she is holding is a reflector, on its golden side, I think. It was a bit past sunset, and some neat, green light was coming into the room. It all came together pretty well for a cool vintage look.

Let it be a lesson that sometimes you just don’t mess with natural light. I have been getting absorbed into the whole studio/artificial light sources thing, but you do what’s best for the picture. This shot came at the end of a day spent with flashes and studio strobes. And the lighting here was probably as attractive as anything I came up with the day.

I have some really awesome stuff coming up, and I’m going to be making myself plan and do at least a few small photoshoots a week, even if I don’t have something big on the horizon. Which, as it goes, I do!

Also, who thought Heroes was just awesome last night?

Watching: Heroes

I thought the part with Claire was gross but the rest was pretty cool. I had forgotten how much I missed that show.

    Keep on truckin’!
