Welcome!

Well, here we are. The launch of my wonderful Web site. I hope you enjoy it. Keep checking out my blog (here), as I intend to frequently post. I’ll probably keep things photographically related. I’ll share technical info about my shots, as well as sharing accounts of how the shoots go.

This web site was designed by Jessica Caldwell an awesome designer and a super cool friend. I am so excited about this, and I think it all looks great. So feel free to look around and enjoy.

… Since I have to start somewhere, here is a picture of the lovely Katie, who modeled for me not long ago. She’s not a model, but we teamed up for this shoot in my backyard. I picked a good corner that I have actually used before, but these turned out great. I used three flashes on it, and the ambient sunlight really helped fill things in. Click on the picture and check out the notes on the picture to see details on her clothing.

This is how I shot it.
I had two flashes on either side of her. A Canon 430 EZ on her right, set to 1/4 power, and a Canon 580 EX on her left, at 1/2 power. They were both fired through white, shoot-through umbrellas and were triggered by Cactus remotes. I had a Nikon SB80-DX on a small stand behind her, at 1/8 power.
It was around sunset, and I think we were mostly in the shade.
ISO was at 200, aperture was f/6.3 and the shutter was at 1/200.

Well, it’s 3 a.m. and I should be sleeping. I will be posting even if I don’t have a photoshoot, probably taking a look back through some of my favorite shots. But also expect a wealth of info from my upcoming shoots. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
